Oklahoma native, Mackenzie Rogers, has performed in the United States, Austria, and Italy to date. Favorite credits include Nancy in Albert Herring, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and the Announcer in Gallantry, A Soap Opera. Ms. Rogers was recently seen in Portland Opera’s productions of La bohème and the annual Big Night Gala, and with Broadway Rose Theatre in their rendition of the popular musical, The Addams Family. In 2017, Ms. Rogers advanced to the semi-finals of the Kurt Weill Institute’s Lotte Lenya Competition, as well as received 2nd Place in the NATS Cascade Chapter Musical Theatre Auditions.
An enthusiast of new music, Ms. Rogers has premiered multiple works, including commissioning a cabaret-influenced song cycle from American composer Chris Burton. In 2017, she participated as the role of JoJo in a workshop of the new opera Tango of the White Gardenia with Cascadia Concert Opera. Ms. Rogers holds her Bachelor of Music from the University of Central Oklahoma, and her Master of Music from the University of Kansas. In Portland, she studies with operatic mezzo-soprano Hannah Penn.
In 2018, Ms. Rogers will return to sing with Portland Opera, and is thrilled to be performing with UFOMT. When she is not singing and dancing, Ms. Rogers enjoys traveling, yoga, bouldering, and films. She lives with her husband and two cats.
