Jóhann Schram Reed has been noted as an exciting voice to look out for on the emerging professional circuit. Last year, he was featured as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera’s 45th Summer Festival, taking part in their groundbreaking production of Britten’s Billy Budd and Puccini’s Turandot.
Other recent engagements include a touring educational production of Barber of Seville with Opera Iowa, Don Alfonso in IU Opera Theater’s production of Cosi fan tutte and powerful performance as baritone soloist in Jacob’s School of Music’s performance of Sir William Walton’s celebrated Belshazzar’s Feast. Previously, he was well-received at the Bay View Music Festival as Inspector Javert in their production of Les Misérables, as well as making his California professional debut in Opera San José’s Falstaff as Pistola.
